Attacker Entered Saif's Son Room, Demanded ₹1 Cr?

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times during a violent home invasion in Mumbai's Bandra West early Thursday morning.

According to police sources, the attacker, armed with a knife, demanded a ₹1 crore ransom after entering the room of Mr. Khan’s four-year-old son, Jehangir (Jeh).

The intruder first confronted the nurse, Eliyama Phillipes, who was caring for Jeh.

She reported being awakened by noises at around 2 a.m. and saw the bathroom light on, initially assuming Kareena Kapoor Khan was checking on her son.

However, she later noticed the intruder, who emerged from the bathroom and entered Jeh’s room. When confronted, the attacker warned her to stay silent and demanded the ransom.

When the nurse tried to resist, she sustained injuries to her wrists and hands. Her screams alerted Saif Ali Khan, who rushed to the scene and attempted to fight off the attacker.

In the ensuing struggle, the actor was stabbed six times, including a deep injury near his spinal cord.

He was later rushed to Lilavati Hospital by his son, Ibrahim, in an auto-rickshaw after delays in the arrival of their car.

Doctors have declared his condition stable, but he underwent emergency surgery to remove a knife fragment lodged in his spine.

A third household staffer, a maid named Geeta, was also injured during the incident.

The intruder reportedly accessed the building via an adjacent structure and was captured on CCTV footage wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and an orange scarf. Despite the footage, the suspect has not yet been apprehended.

The attack has raised serious questions about the effectiveness of security measures at the high-profile residence. A case has been registered under sections related to robbery, trespassing, and grievous harm.

The incident has also sparked political backlash. Opposition leaders, including Priyanka Chaturvedi of Shiv Sena and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, criticized the BJP-led state government, questioning the safety of Mumbai residents if even celebrities are vulnerable.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called the attack "unfortunate" but refuted claims of declining safety in the city.

As investigations continue, the incident has left Bollywood and the public shocked, demanding better security and accountability.
