Andhra employees up in arms against govt again!

After keeping silent for a few weeks after the implementation of pay revision commission recommendations, the employees of Andhra Pradesh are once again up in arms against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

Leaders of the Amaravati employees’ joint action committee, who had a meeting on Monday, said they were forced to take up yet another agitation for payment of salaries and pensions on time and they had no other option but to take up protest demonstrations.

Expressing serious concern over the attitude of the state government towards the employees, JAC chairman Bopparaju Venkateshwarlu, general secretary Y V Rao and others said the state government had withdrawn even the dearness allowance arrears credited to the accounts of the employees.

“When we have asked for the same, the officials say it was due to technical fault, but are not returning the same. Every month, we are virtually begging the government to pay salaries on the first day. They are not getting salaries even after the first week,” Venkateshwarlu said.

The condition of pensioners has become worse, as they are not able to get their pensions even till 25th of the month.

“The government has diverted even our provident fund payments for other purposes and is not returning the same,” he said.

The JAC leaders pointed out that the revised pay scales were not being paid to the APSRTC employees. Even the leave encashment facility was not being given to the employees.

“There is no assurance from the ministers’ committee. We have no option but to launch yet another agitation,” they warned.
