Ram Gopal Varma’s controversial political thriller ‘Amma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu’ has finally been cleared by the Censor Board.
The film was referred to the revising committee and the committee has given clearance with some cuts.
Elated Ram Gopal Varma said that there ‘still is freedom of expression in our country.’ He also announced the release date as December 12. It will compete with Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya starrer ‘Venky Mama’.
The film was originally titled ‘Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Reddlu’ but RGV has changed the title to ‘Amma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu’ after objections were raised.
Though it is a fictional political thriller, all the characters in the film resemble real-life politicians like Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, KA Paul, and Pawan Kalyan.
Evangelist KA Paul moved to court to stall the film’s release but he didn’t get any relief.
