For five years, Telugu star Allu Arjun has dedicated himself to director Sukumar’s Pushpa series (Pushpa: The Rise and Pushpa 2: The Rule).
Now, as he approaches the conclusion of Pushpa 2: The Rule, the actor admits he is eager to wrap up the journey.
At a promotional event for the sequel, Arjun revealed the unexpected reason behind his impatience.
“I’ve been waiting for this film to get over so I could finally get a clean shave. My daughter doesn’t come near me because I have a beard, and I haven’t been able to kiss her properly for the past three to four years,” he shared, sparking both laughter and empathy from the audience.
However, when the shoot finally ended, Arjun found himself unexpectedly emotional.
“I had been waiting to shave off my beard, but Rashmika [Mandanna] wrapped up her part a day earlier and was tearing up because, over five years, the set had become like a home. The next day, when I finished my shoot, I went quiet—it felt very heavy for me.”
Reflecting on the journey, Arjun spoke about the emotional weight of the series’ success.
“When the first part became a huge hit, I felt proud to be raising the profile of the Telugu film industry. This time, I realized that Pushpa doesn’t belong to me or anyone else—it belongs to the bouncers, the unit members, and everyone who put five years into making this film. I want it to succeed, not just for me, but for all of them. That’s why I got emotional on the last day of the shoot.”
