Political parties often appoint skilled individuals who can handle the media confidently without causing controversy. They are called Spokespersons.
Now, for the first time, a film hero—Telugu star Allu Arjun—is appointing a spokesperson. This was confirmed by his close friend Bunny Vas. The spokesperson will announce Allu Arjun’s film lineup and speak on his behalf.
But does a hero really need a spokesperson?
After all, there’s already a PR team and a digital team managing updates and promotions. Fans usually find out about movie lineups through these channels, and official announcements follow naturally.
So, what’s the real purpose? Will the spokesperson address public issues on Bunny’s behalf?
Perhaps Allu Arjun felt the need after the recent Sandhya Theater incident, where his image took a hit. A strong spokesperson might help in such situations.
Commenting on this an industry insider said that Allu Arjun is deeply upset with the Sandhya Talkies incident and the legal issues that troubled him- he has lost confidence to the extent that he’s not ready to appear at public events; and that’s the reason he was absent from the Thandel pre release event as well.
To handle such situations, he is reportedly hiring a spokesperson to speak on his behalf. But will that suffice? A spokesperson can never be the star himself. People expect the star to come out and speak directly.
However, Bunny’s goal seems to be something bigger—which we’ll only understand with time.
