Actress Shares Childhood Abuse Experience

South Indian actress Varalakshmi Sarathkumar recently opened up about a traumatic childhood experience, revealing that she was a victim of abuse.

The emotional disclosure came during her appearance as a judge on Zee Tamil’s dance show.

While on the show, a contestant shared her own painful experiences of abuse with her family. Moved by the story, Varalakshmi revealed that she had endured similar trauma in her past.

"When I was a child, my parents would leave me in the care of others while they were at work. During that time, I was molested by five or six people," she confessed. "I don’t have children of my own, but I urge all parents to educate their kids about good touch and bad touch."

Overcome with emotion, Varalakshmi broke down in tears after sharing her story.

The daughter of veteran actor Sarathkumar and his first wife, Chhayadevi, Varalakshmi made her Tamil cinema debut in 2012. She has since starred in notable Malayalam films like Kasaba, Kaattu, and Masterpiece.
