Ankita Lokhande, known for her work in both television and films, recently opened up about her experience with the casting couch in an interview with Hauterrfly.
She revealed that she was approached for a South Indian film and was told that she would need to "sleep with" the producer to secure the role.
Recounting the incident, Ankita shared, "I had auditioned for a South Indian film. I received a call asking me to come and sign the contract. I was thrilled and told my mother that I would go to sign the contract. However, I had doubts about how easily it happened."
Upon arriving to sign the contract, Ankita was asked to come inside alone while her coordinator was asked to wait outside.
She was then told, "You have to compromise." At that time, Ankita was only 19 years old and aspiring to become a heroine.
Trying to evade the situation, Ankita asked, "What kind of compromise?" To which she received a straightforward reply, "You have to sleep with the producer."
Ankita immediately rejected the offer, stating, "I don't think your producer needs talent; he just needs a girl to sleep with, and I am not that one," before walking away.
Ankita Lokhande gained fame after her role in the hit daily soap Pavitra Rishta alongside the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
She made her Bollywood debut in 2019 with Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi and also appeared in Baaghi 3 alongside Tiger Shroff.
