It has been five days since four films were released, competing against each other in theaters on Independence Day.
On the fifth day, which happened to coincide with the Rakhi festival, their box office collections were as follows:
In the Telugu states, Double iSmart collected a gross of ₹1.06 crore, Aay grossed ₹94.4 lakh, Mr. Bachchan earned ₹70.8 lakh, and Thangalaan (Telugu) made ₹65 lakh.
Notably, the small film Aay outperformed Mr. Bachchan on the fifth day, which is a setback for the big-ticket film featuring Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja as the hero.
Considering the overall worldwide gross collections of these films so far, Thangalaan (Tamil and Telugu) has made ₹49 crore, Double iSmart grossed ₹17 crore, Mr. Bachchan collected ₹12.15 crore, and Aay brought in ₹7.5 crore.
The season's winner is undoubtedly Aay, which is making profits. The film was produced on a small budget, and the returns on investment are high.
On the other hand, for Double iSmart and Mr. Bachchan, the budgets were very high, and the ROI is miserably low, resulting in colossal disasters.
Thangalaan, meanwhile, is struggling with its Tamil and Telugu versions, having completed only half the journey to break even so far.
