Aamir Khan is making headlines again, and this time, it’s not just about his films. Over the years, he has mesmerized audiences with a diverse filmography, seamlessly weaving themes of education, gender equality, and positivity into his storytelling.
With a career spanning over three decades and four National Awards to his name, Aamir has firmly established his legacy in Indian cinema.
His journey began as a child actor before stepping into the spotlight as a lead in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.
While the film’s makers gave him a grand launch, Aamir took a unique approach to its promotion. He designed an anonymous poster with the intriguing tagline: Who is Aamir Khan? Ask the girl next door.
Determined to make an impact, he personally went around Mumbai, pasting these posters on auto-rickshaws. But his nerves ran high about the film’s reception.
“I was scared about how it would perform. We were putting up posters ourselves, and some people even chased us away. When they asked who the hero was and heard my name, their next question was — Who is Aamir Khan?” he recalled.
But after his debut, there was no looking back. From Lagaan, 3 Idiots, PK, and Dangal to Raja Hindustani, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Ishq, Mann, Ghulam, Rang De Basanti, Fanaa, Ghajini, and Secret Superstar, Aamir delivered milestone films one after another.
His contributions extended beyond acting, playing a pivotal role in taking Indian cinema to a global audience. His transformation from a romantic hero to a box-office titan was fueled by relentless dedication.
While his first film earned him just ₹1,000, he evolved into an actor, screenwriter, director, and producer - proving that hard work and passion can redefine success.
