Arguably one of the greatest spinners of all time, Muttiah Muralitharan has taken an enormous 800 wickets in Test cricket, while he wrapped up 534 wickets in ODIs.
A biopic on Muralitharan is in the making stages. It is named 800 in a tribute to Murali’s 800 Test wickets.
The makers today revealed the first look of Madhur Mittal of Slumdog Millionaire fame as Murali, on the occasion of the great spinner’s birthday.
Sporting short hair with a French beard and flashing a smile on his face, Madhur Mittal’s uncanny resemblance to Muralitharan is quite impressive.
We can also observe a reflection of wickets and bails on the face of Madhur Mittal in the first-look poster.
The film is written and directed by MS Sripathy and produced by Movie Train Motion Pictures and Vivek Rangachari.
800 captures the many faces of the legend that is Muttiah Muralidaran, a cricketing icon from a war-torn Sri Lanka, who became the greatest wicket-taker of all time.
The film 800 is planned for release in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu languages this year.
