Time will not always be favorable. Akshay Kumar, the highest paid Indian movie celebrity worldwide as per Forbes, has seen 4th biggest wasted effort within a span of 8 months.
After the last three theatrical debacles- Bacchan Pandey, Samrat Prithviraj and Raksha Bandhan now 'Cuttputli' which was directly released on Disney+Hotstar ended up as a wasted effort as the film didn't get any good response from the viewers.
This film 'Cuttputli' is a remake with many deviations from the Tamil original 'Ratsasan'. This was also made in Telugu with Bellamkonda Srinivas playing the main lead as Rakshasudu in 2019.
As it is Akshay Kumar's film, there was no compromise on the budget and making standards but the overall content sounded monotonous and ended up in vain.
Akshay Kumar needs to rehash himself in picking up the projects and his mere stardom cannot pull the footfalls at theatres or the eyeballs on his OTT films like before.
