
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today announced a complete nationwide lockdown from midnight for 21 days. This curfew will stay until April 14. So, theaters will remain closed in April as well.
It is now pretty evident that there will not be any new releases in April even if the lockdown goes away after 14th April.
Telugu movie industry is losing a major month during the summer holidays. There is also fear that people may not willing to step into the theaters for another two or three months due to a lack of money and work for a prolonged period.
Except for the salaried class, others will be affected severely. Tollywood, for that matter entire Indian film industry, will face a huge recession at the box-office.
Ram’s “Red”, Nani’s “V”, Mythri’s “Uppena”, Anushka’s “Nishabdham” and Bellamkonda – Santosh Srinivas’s movie going to suffer immensely as these films are scheduled for release in April.
