A financial relief package of ₹2 crore has been announced for the family of nine-year-old Sritej, who is currently recovering at KIMS Hospital.
The announcement was made by film producer Allu Aravind, father of actor Allu Arjun, after visiting the boy at the hospital.
Of the ₹2 crore, Allu Arjun contributed ₹1 crore, while Pushpa 2 director Sukumar and the film’s producers each provided ₹50 lakh.
Allu Aravind stated that Sritej's condition is improving, with ventilator support now removed.
A cheque for ₹2 crore was handed over to Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju, who was also present at the hospital.
Dil Raju confirmed that members of the Telugu film industry plan to meet Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday at 10 a.m. to discuss the incident.
Sritej sustained injuries and lost consciousness during a stampede at Sandhya Theatre on December 4, during the premiere screening of Pushpa 2. Tragically, his mother, Revathi, lost her life on the spot.
Following the incident, police registered a case and arrested Allu Arjun, along with the theatre owner, senior manager, and manager.
Allu Arjun, who was interrogated for four hours on Wednesday, was released on interim bail after being held at Chanchalguda Prison.
