The first Sunday collections of various films highlight the competitive landscape of the box office for Telugu films in North America.
Devara, with a reported gross of $400K (out of which $100K is from Hindi version), shows a poor performance in Telugu, in spite of considering its unique release strategy.
In comparison, Kalki led the pack with $1,813,536, followed by HanuMan at $810,449 and Salaar with $726,506 on first Sunday after release. Meanwhile, Guntur Kaaram lagged significantly, earning only $182,583 on 1st Sunday.
Despite a dip in the Telugu version's collections, the Hindi version of Devara is maintaining momentum.
The overall figures indicate that while Devara is facing challenges, its Hindi performance offers a glimmer of hope. However, the plight is too bad for Tamil and Malayalam versions which are failing to pull any traction.
