The strategic alliance between Hyderabad-based MAA Television Network Limited (MTN) and Sony Pictures Television (SPT) “for giving a new growth thrust to Maa TV and its network of Telugu television channels,” is expected to be a big relief for the viewers of the channels.
At present, the viewers of Maa TV are getting tremendously bored by the repeated telecast of films of big heroes like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and their children.
Not a single day passes without the telecast of at least one of their films in any of their networking channels. This viewer does not remember how many times he had watched Nagarjuna-starrers like Don, Super, King, Kedi, Annamayya and Ramadasu and Chiranjeevi-starrers like Andarivaadu, Stalin, Tagore etc. And these days, one must have seen Magadheera, Chirutha, Dada, 100 per cent Love etc. at least a dozen times.
Now that Sony Television has acquired 30 per cent equity stake in Maa TV, the viewers are expecting a big relief from the repeated telecast of these movies.
As announced by Nimmagadda Prasad, chairman of Maa TV, the Telugu TV viewers can now expect more and more quality programmes and family viewing from the channels and successful international entertainment formats.
