It is undeniable fact that presentation of various awards to films is a big farce. Right from national awards to Nandi awards to those presented by private institutions to media awards – all are stage-managed. The winners of these awards are decided in accordance with the political and commercial interests.
The awards functions for the films released last year have become all the more farcical. The functions being held by various organisations have still been going on.
If one were to closely observe these functions, one can observe a common point – gross injustice is being done to hero Prabhas.
Last year’s magnum opus film Bahubali has been receiving several awards, but not a single awards’ committee seems to have acknowledged the talent of Prabhas. Whether it was the jury comprising experts or the popular voting, Prabhas could not get a single award.
On the other hand, every actor who played a role in Bahubali got one award or the other – whether it was Rajamouli, Ramya Krishna, Rana, Satyaraj, Tamannah etc in their respective categories. But the fact is that there is Bahubali without Prabhas, who is the title hero of the film. It was Prabhas who had given life to the film and the entire marketing was done in his name. Yet, he is not in the reckoning for any award!
May be, Prabhas is being sidelined for the sake of Mahesh Babu to get the best actor award for his role in Srimanthudu, so that the organisers could draw a balance between Bahubali and Srimanthudu!
