The film ‘Panjaa’ of Pawan Kalyan has been doing big talk ever since the stills were released.
But the overseas distributors are said to be thinking twice to buy the release rights of the film even at Rs 2 cr. The producers are hoping to rake in at least Rs 2.5 cr, but the distributors are of the opinion that it is not worth investing more than Rs 2 cr is because of the considerable risk factor.
Actually, Pawan Kalyan has huge market in the US like Mahesh Babu. But when the film turns upside down, there is risk of losing big sum. And the overseas audience like more of comedy and family films than the action flicks. Even the films like Khaleja and Namo Venkatesa made good business in overseas although remained average grosser in India due to comedy.
Looking at the “Panjaa” posters, the positive feel is not working for the buyers in overseas at they are getting the impression that it is a hardcore action film.
Besides, director like Vishnu Vardhan is not known for Telugu audience; and the heroine, too, is not a known face. These are the factors that make the buyers hesitant.
But who knows? Sometimes, the films with such very less expectations may strike gold.
