Starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, War 2 is among the most anticipated Bollywood films of 2025.
A sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, it marks the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, following Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for a dance showdown between Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, two of the finest dancers in Indian cinema.
However, reports suggest that during rehearsals, Hrithik suffered a leg injury. Doctors have advised him four weeks of rest, leading to the postponement of his highly anticipated song sequence with the RRR star.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, "Hrithik pushed himself during rehearsals for this energetic song with NTR Jr in War 2. He developed a leg niggle, which was causing discomfort. After medical inspection, doctors advised him to rest before shooting the massive dance number. The song will now be filmed in May."
Despite this setback, the film’s release remains on schedule.
The source reassured fans, stating, "All principal actors have completed their shoots, and the film is already in post-production. This minor hurdle won't affect the marketing or promotional plans. War 2 will hit theaters worldwide on August 14, 2025."
Unlike its predecessor, which was directed by Siddharth Anand, War 2 is helmed by Ayan Mukerji, known for Wake Up Sid, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Brahmastra Part One: Shiva.
Produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, War 2 is set for a box office clash with Vivek Agnihotri’s The Delhi Files, releasing on August 15.
Additionally, Sunny Deol’s Lahore 1947 and Rajinikanth’s Coolie are also rumored to be eyeing the Independence Day weekend for their releases.
