With Katamarayudu turning out to be a disappointment, film buffs will now look forward to Venkatesh’s Guru for some early summer entertainment at the cinemas.
Guru that was earlier scheduled to April 5 is now arriving on March 31. Trailer of the film has raised expectations with Venky looking tough and macho as the no-nonsense boxing coach.
Guru is a remake of Tamil/Hindi film Saala Khadoos which earned cult following.
It is the story about brewing romance between a young fisherwoman turned boxing champ and a middle aged boxing coach, who wants to prove his worth to the sporting community. It is not a regular commercial film that caters to all sections of audience.
Hence, the makers of Guru decided not to sell the theatrical rights of Guru despite some handsome offers. They are releasing the movie on their own through Suresh Babu’s distribution company.
Suresh is making sure to get a good number of screens across Telugu states for Guru. They are planning an aggressive marketing campaign to take Guru to wider audience.
