The mark of any successful director comes from his writing. So, some of the top league directors tend to have a loyal set of writers who are talented and match the wavelength. One such director is Srinu Vaitla and one such assistant of his is Gopi Mohan. The duo has worked together for few years and for important projects.
However, it is now heard that Gopi Mohan has begun to get offers for direction and he is keen on taking steps towards that side. Sources say he had a discussion with Vaitla on exiting from his camp. As expected, Vaitla used few retention methods. As part of that, Vaitla reportedly told Gopi “I don’t mind you going. It is actually good. But I have two projects in hand right now. Just work for them and then you can start your new career.”
Not stopping at that, Vaitla reportedly offered Rs 1 crore per film to Gopi. However, the writer’s reply is quoted by sources like this “Thank You for the offer sir. But I don’t want to delay my decision further. If I sit for those two projects, precious time will be gone. So, I won’t be able to continue. Sorry.” If all this is true, it remains to be seen how Vaitla will fill this gap and whether he can deliver the same kind of punch in his dialogues in the future.
Indeed, Gopi Mohan worked on dialogues even for 'Dookudu' but the titles show 'Story Screenplay Direction-Sreenu Vaitla'. Truth is Sreenu Vaitla also writes dialogues but not without the help of Gopi Mohan.
