There has been a talk that Devi Sri Prasad was subjected to significant injustice and humiliation regarding the background score of Pushpa 2.
There were even rumors circulating that Thaman and two other music directors had been hired to replace him.
However, upon closer examination, it seems the real humiliation might not have been directed at Devi Sri Prasad but at Thaman.
Initially brought in to work on Pushpa 2, Thaman's contributions were ultimately set aside. This was clarified through a recent statement by music director Sam CS and the film's title credits.
Sam CS addressed the matter during the release of Pushpa 2, stating that he was responsible for 90% of the background score for the film.
While incorporating some sound elements that Devi Sri Prasad had already created, Sam CS confirmed that he completed the remaining work, including the crucial background score for the climactic fight scene.
This revelation made it clear that the background music created by Thaman for Pushpa 2 was not used in the final cut. This situation has undoubtedly been a major blow to Thaman's reputation.
Thaman himself had previously announced that he worked on Pushpa 2, stating, "I only had 15 days, so I could complete one part. I did what I could, and the director and hero were very happy with it."
Despite this, Sam CS's statement suggests that director Sukumar ultimately chose to disregard Thaman's work. This fact is also evident in the film's title credits.
In the official credits, Devi Sri Prasad is listed under "Music and Original Background Score," while Sam CS is credited for the "Additional Background Score." Thaman's name is absent.
So, the question remains- who has faced the real insult in this situation? No doubt, the answer is Thaman.
