After considering many names including that of veteran star Nagarjuna, makers of Thani Oruvan remake settled for Aravind Swamy who has played the same role in the original.
Aravind Swamy took the Tamil film to another level with his cunning attitude and superb histrionics. It was tough for anybody to find a replacement for him in the remake.
Nagarjuna would have made an interesting choice and definitely added value to the movie with his image.
Nag is still not ready to do villain roles and Surender Reddy was left with no option but to approach Aravind Swamy.
This handsome actor who is a well known face to Telugu audience with iconic movies like Roja and Bombay was not interested to do the same character again.
The makers of Thani Oruvan remake convinced him and also have reportedly paid some advance to lock his dates.
So Ram Charan will have to deal with the wily attitude of Aravind Swamy in this action thriller. Ileana is all set to make a comeback with this film directed by Surender Reddy.
Eyebrows were raised with Ram Charan choosing a script that has a dominating villain but he is pretty confident on Thani Oruvan to work wonders at the Telugu box office too.
