Tamil superstar Suriya has a tremendous fan following in Telugu, on par with Telugu heroes doing straight films.
He has earned a lot of affection in the hearts of not only in the Telugu audiences but also in the big families ruling the Telugu film industry.
Especially after the resounding success of 'Ghajini' Telugu version, Suriya has developed close affinity with Mega family and he is now a close friend of Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan Teja.
Such was the friendship between the two families is that whenever a dubbed version of Suriya film is released in Telugu, one of the Mega family members invariably comes forward to convey his best wishes to Suriya.
The Mega family extended its support to Suriya and his brother Karthi in conducting audio release functions and promotion of their films. Both the families had enjoyed a lot of personal relations also.
However, it seems to be a thing of the past. In the recent past, there has not been much affinity between Suriya and Mega families.
Nobody knows the exact reason, but of late, Suriya family has got new friends in Tollywood, following the success of 'Oopiri' and needless to say, the new friends are from Akkineni family.
The tremendous success of Oopiri strengthened the bond between the two families.
The fact that Nagarjuna’s son Akhil appeared at the audio release function of Suriya’s forthcoming film '24' and conveyed his best wishes, lent credence to the talk that both the families have developed a strong affinity.
So, from Mega family to Akkineni family, Suriya has come a long way. Let us see how long this new friendship will remain.
