Director Sukumar has dropped a bomb by saying that he is planning to quit direction after a couple of films.
Sukumar is known as one of the very few ‘genius’ directors in Telugu cinema and people were shocked to hear this statement from him. Sukumar says he can do justice to the films as a writer than a director.
Sukumar said that he is very happy with Kumari 21F as a writer. Apparently he worked on that script for over a year and wrote Nannaku Prematho screenplay in three months.
Sukumar sounded unhappy when he told about the scenes that had gone wrong in Nannaku Prematho. Sukumar said that he should have handled the Spain episode in a better way. He didn’t have enough time for proper editing it seems.
Few scenes in Nannaku Prematho couldn’t make it to the final cut just because of time constraints.
Sukumar was under tremendous pressure to get the film ready for Pongal release. So he had to compromise on many things.
No director would be happy if he couldn’t get a scene right just because of some silly release sentiments. Although Sukumar is not blaming anybody but himself for this, he is seriously thinking of quitting direction. Sad.
