The lockdown period has made director Sukumar rework on the casting of “Pushpa” which had its first look poster launch on April 8.
As the project has turned into a pan-Indian with multiple dubbed versions, Sukumar is now selecting Bollywood, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam actors for all key roles.
While Allu Arjun is playing the role of a lorry driver who works in the region of Seshachalam forest in Chittor district in Andhra Pradesh, Rashmika is playing his heroine.
The casting of Rashmika as the heroine and Kannada star Daali Dhananjay cater to the Karnataka market.
Vijay Sethupathi earlier was taken for the main villain’s role keeping in mind the Tamil market but he is walking out of it due to his commitments in Kollywood. Sukumar is now planning to rope in a leading Bollywood star as the main villain.
For other small roles, actors are from the Malayalam industry will be taken. Sukumar is currently working on this. Buzz is that Nivetha Thomas will play the second heroine.
The film will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
