Subramanyam For Sale is a perfect mid-range film. If budget of the movie is Rs 7 to Rs 8 crores, it would be safe. But talk is that the film's budget was Rs 16 crores.
Apparently, Harish Shankar was paid Rs 2 to Rs 2.5 crores, Sai Dharam Teja was paid around Rs 1 crore and Regina was paid Rs 60 lakhs.
Since the film was shot in the US, the production costs shot up and this included on-site charges and business class fares, etc. Also, the film has many padding artistes and so the cost did come up to Rs 16 crores.
Over the weekend, the film has already made Rs 9 crores and then satellite rights are expected to bring in Rs 3 crores.
So, in the coming two days, the film is expected to make the rest of the money. Else, bigger films will keep coming in from there on. Also, the makers must count theatre charges.
On the whole, trade analysts say that Subramanyam For Sale will either break even or it will leave producer Dil Raju with a loss of Rs 1 crore.
