Mahesh Babu’s upcoming attraction Srimanthudu is riding on high expectations like every Superstar movie does.
Being one of the producers of the film, Mahesh is spending extra time on the promotional campaign for this film. However he is not getting his promotional strategy right as he is focusing on the national media for a regional film.
Looks like team Srimanthudu is under Baahubali influence that has targeted national media rather than Telugu media.
Baahubali had generated enough hype prior to the release and hence Rajamouli and co. focused more on getting the attention from Bollywood audience.
Whereas Srimanthudu is strictly a Telugu film in spite of releasing in Tamil! So the main focus should be on penetrating into the masses.
Mahesh Babu is giving interviews to English dailies that are hardly circulated in towns and villages of Telugu states.
Interviews given to English dailies may attract the internet junta and urban filmgoers, but Telugu cinema thrives on B and C centers. So
Srimanthudu should focus more on Telugu media with the release date just ten days away from now. Last minute attempts to build the hype may not yield desired results. Time to get the strategy right!
