Sridevi made a comeback to the Indian screen with the movie ‘English Vinglish’ which did reasonably well.
Following the movie’s success, she jacked up her remuneration to astronomical levels. Perhaps, she still feels she is a top heroine. This resulted in many offers originally intended for her, going to contemporaries.
Industry sources say that Sridevi was actually approached for the character played by Ramya Krishna in Baahubali. But the unit beat a hasty retreat as she asked for Rs 5 crore as remuneration not to mention the ancillary expenses which would easily run into another 1 crore.
Therefore, Rajamouli decided to cast Ramya Krishna for the role and she did an outstanding job. Thus, Sridevi missed out on being part of Tollywood’s biggest grosser.
