To those who are not aware ‘Mejuvaani’ is a culture rampant during the olden times.
This was meant to be quite popular from East Godavari to Vizag districts. The ‘Mejuvaani’ culture was on till the 70s. Apparently, select prostitutes from the village will come and dance for the men. This was more like a bachelor’s party in desi style during those days.
After that, they will take their money and leave but if someone interests them, they will have bookings for the night. This entire thing was called ‘Mejuvaani’. And now, it appears that the old culture seems to have been revived and instead of prostitutes, it is the heroines who are taking the legacy forward.
Sources say that lately, many heroines are showing interest to do dance shows on stage. The inside talk is that these events are the platforms for them to reveal their oomph and thereby build their contacts. It is heard that after the shows, they are also having bookings and earn few quick bucks. Those who are aware of this are terming the heroines as hi-class ‘Mejuvani’ entertainers.
