Manam is the last film of Akkineni Nageswara Rao and it stars three generations of the Akkineni family in it.
Even though he was diagnosed with cancer, Nageswara Rao completed the shooting and dubbing for his scenes in the movie. The post production is over and the movie is ready for release.
Reportedly, there are no buyers for the movie. The movie is said to be an age old take on family relationships and values and there is not much positive buzz on the movie. So Nagarjuna has decided to release the movie on his own.
In fact Nag was said to have started Manam only out of respect for ANR’s wish. Nageswara Rao watched the preview of Manam and was very happy with Naga Chaitanya’s performance. But as far as Nagarjuna is concerned, once Manam is released he will be free of his obligation to his dad!
