When NTR (junior NTR, of course) was adjudged the best hero in the Maa TV awards, everybody was surprised. Surprise because, there were other major contenders for the award, including Megastar Chiranjeevi's son Ramcharan Teja and nephew Allu Arjun. Secondly, Chiru himself has major stakes in Maa TV and everybody thought either of his kin would get the award. But, the award went to NTR. Moreso, NTR received the award from the hands of Chiranjeevi himself.
Inquiries revealed that there was more to it than what meets the eye in giving the award to NTR. According to sources, Chiru has come to an understanding with NTR to see that his latest film "Kantri" gets delayed in its release, so that there would not be any problems for Chiru brother Pawan Kalyan's film "Jalsa" for some more days. It is evident that the talk for Jalsa is not so good, but it has to be dragged for some days, lest Chiru's political entry is linked to it. If Kantri sweeps the records, it would be a setback for Chiru. Hence, he had to please NTR by giving him the best actor award on behalf of Maa TV.
