Besides, a banner has bought the complete overseas rights from producer Danayya.
The same party has sold the overseas rights to four other buyers of same group excluding the Gulf rights. This party has already paid an advance of Rs 10 Cr to the first party.
Then the third group has come into the picture to buy the USA rights exclusively and paid Rs 4 Cr advance to the second party.
Finally there are many players in overseas business in three layers.
When the situation was so, Coronavirus breakdown has resulted in the lockdown. The long wait has killed the interest of the investors.
Adding to that, the situation of USA box office is miserable ever since the lockdown. There are no indications of seeing the brighter side in the next few months.
Now, the third group has announced middle drop and demanding the Rs 4 Cr back from the second party. So, the discussions are going on in this issue.
The producer has no connection with all these issues as he sold out the film only for the first party. He has to wait from the same group to get the balance amount at the time of release.
