It is known news that the tussle is on regarding the theatrical rights of the film ‘Robo’. While the dilemma continues as to who has taken it, the prices quoted are knocking the wits out of many. Apparently, the makers are demanding a whopping Rs 30 crores for buying the rights.
However, the cine pundits make it clear that Rs 30 crores recovery is very difficult. Even the mega blockbuster like ‘Magadheera’ was made at Rs 34 crores and got nearly 80 crores. The film clicked because it had nativity and a new age star who could connect to the current generation audience.
That is missing in ‘Robo’ and given the fact that it is a dubbed version is another obstacle. So now, it is being said that it is only for fame that the producer should take but commercially there is no viability to invest such an astronomical amount. Let us see who has that kind of ‘Duradha’.
