In the past couple of years, Reliance Entertainment had invested heavily in films of various south Indian languages apart from Bollywood and Hollywood films. It partnered with BVSN Prasad and made Sahasam and Attarintiki Daaredi.
Right now, BVSN Prasad is producing Sudheer Varma’s film with Naga Chaitnya titled Dochey. And it was widely rumoured that they would have a share along with Prasad in NTR-Sukumar’s film.
But the latest bit of gossip from Film Nagar is that Reliance has more or less pulled out of the project. In fact, there are two versions doing rounds.
For starters, it is said that Reliance does not want the production costs to go beyond Rs 40 crores. As per another version, talk is that BVSN Prasad will be the solo producer of the film. Now, even if Reliance is part of the project, investing more than Rs 40 crores is an unnecessary waste given the present market of NTR.
Even though NTR’s market has been revived with Temper, it is clear that almost all his future films will not make business of more than Rs 40 crores approximately.
If Reliance does bid goodbye to film-making, then rumour is that Eros International is ready to co-produce the film along with BVSN Prasad. In the past, Eros had produced Sukumar’s One-Nenokkadine.
