By the time ‘Ninne Pelladutha’ shooting got completed, Nag and Tabu were neck deep in love. Both of them used to hang out like husband and wife. Keeping that in mind, EVV named his film as ‘Aavida..Maa Aavida’. After this, though few tried to pair them up, it didn’t work. However, giving her debut break in ‘Coolie No.1’ and giving her a spicy touch in ‘Pandurangadu’, sources say it is on director K Raghavendra Rao’s insistence that Nag agreed to act with Tabu.
KRR- Nag combo resulted in ‘Annamayya’ ‘Bhakta Ramadasu’ but both characters were limited to Andhra Pradesh. But Shirdi Sai is not like that. He has crores of devotees across the country so along with Telugu, the film has huge market for other key languages as well, especially Hindi. Film nagar sources reveal that anyhow the Hindi audience is somewhat familiar with Nag so getting Tabu into the project would give the added advantage, this made Raghavendra Rao convince Nag to act with Tabu.
