Two days before the release of Srimanthudu, Bollywood’s leading production house EROS International has bought all rights of the movie for a whopping amount. This is strange.
The movie has already been sold to individual distributors for all areas by the production company Mythri Movie Makers.
The producers have already entered into profit zone by selling the movie for a good price. Then how come EROS came and took over the rights of the movie? What is EROS’s strategy?
EROS has been doing this in South Indian industry – buying entire rights of movies after the producers closed business of a film. They have done this for Mahesh Babu’s ‘Aagadu’ too.
Many reasons are being cited by the industry pundits. Some say that EROS feels big star movies like Mahesh Babu film will fetch good revenues through digital and other avenues in the long run.
Some cite the reason could be to show big projects in their catalogue or in the account books as it would increase the company’s total value.
Mahesh Babu has already given about Rs 1.5 crores to clear the old debts pertaining to ‘Aagadu’ distributors. So Srimanthudu is all set for grand release on 7th August worldwide without any issues. Get ready to get entertained, folks.
