Rana Daggubati is a popular actor, but he doesn’t have a big theatrical market.
After the release of “Baahubali” movies, Rana proved that he could bring audiences to the theaters with his name.
Films like “Nene Raju Nene Mantri” succeeded at the box office on Rana’s name and the opening numbers were impressive for that film.
He couldn’t sustain it long. His market and craze went down after some bad choices.
Furthermore, he faced health issues three years ago forcing him to stay away from films for many months. Pandemic further created a gap. So, he wanted to connect with the audiences with a theatrical release.
He thought that a film like “Virata Parvam” would change his fortunes. Sai Pallavi’s magic and the film’s content would put him back on track, he hoped.
He put the Netflix deal for a direct-OTT release aside and made the film hit the theaters. But his calculations went wrong.
“Virata Parvam” didn’t get a respectable opening at all. The film’s collections were nosedived after the weekend. The film is a huge flop. Rana’s theatrical market has gone down further.
