Director SS Rajamouli has been widely regarded and respected in local media circles. But one thing about the star director has been hurting T-town media of late.
It is Rajamouli’s focused attention towards the national media at the cost of ignoring the regional media.
A media person shares on basis of anonymity, “He (Rajamouli) has a fetish for national media coverage and grossly ignores local media. Local English media is also not an exception. He and his crew hardly respond to regional media about updates of Baahubali. Whenever he wants to react on something, he states it directly on Twitter and his Facebook page. After the director’s Eega made wonders at the box-office and garnered laurels at International Film Festivals, it’s we who promoted him. But whenever our media crews ask about Baahubali or updates about it, he tries his best to avoid answering them. And not always is his response polite. Recently, the news coverage of Baahubali in the national media is a publicity tactic by the team which was deliberately not shared with local media persons.”
Let’s hope the tough taskmaster steps in to convince regional media men who are fussing over news about Baahubali. And at the same time, our newsmen should also refrain from reading/ seeing in between the lines.
