Getting a good film happens by chance. So, remuneration does not count always. More so in the case of heroines as they get to do more or less similar roles in all films. In fact, almost any girl can do any role.
So, if they are offered a substantial role, then a heroine must be smart enough to adjust her remuneration. Else, chances are that the film will end up with another heroine.
Raashi Khanna has had one similar slip recently. For Geeta Govindam, Lavanya Tripathi was the first choice.
However, of late, Lavanya hasn't had a good career track and the makers were not sure of her on-screen pairing with Vijay Devarakonda. Then the makers went to Raashi Khanna. Though she said yes immediately, she insisted on taking home Rs 1 crore.
While discussions went on for some time, Raashi refused to budge from the figure. Meanwhile, the team found Rashmika Mandanna suitable for the part and they signed her on.
Incidentally, where Raashi anticipated a hit and a memorable film in Srinivasa Kalyanam, it ended up being a dud.
On the other hand, Rashmika ended up getting Geeta Govindam, which has been getting rave reviews from the word go.
