Actress Priyamani, unarguably, a good actress who could emote well. She carved a niche for herself and prove her acting mettle.
The Kerala kutti even won national award for her extraordinary performance in Paruthi Veeran (Dubbed into Telugu as Malligadu).
Priyamani has credit for working with top-notch directors like Mani Ratnam (Raavan), Ram Gopal Varma (Raktha Charitra), Yama Donga (Rajamouli) and recently did a sizzling item number in Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express.
Despite very good track record, of late, her career is on downward spiral in Tollywood and Kollywood. She hasn't tasted a box-office success in recent times. All her recent films- Kshetram, Charulatha, Chandi- bombed miserably.
So, the big question is what's holding her back? Of course, it's her own decisions. The saying in glamour field goes like this: "There are no murders in showbiz, only suicides".
Yes, her own mistakes in choosing hackneyed scripts, especially picking up female-oriented movies have brought her image down. Neglecting glam-roles and commercial entertainers taking a back seat for her seems to be major drawback. Also, her upcoming films appear to be lacking that punch to bring her back to limelight.
If she won't realize now and change her track, it would be tough going for Priyamani in days to come. She even failed to cash in on the craze she got in Bollywood due to her item number in SRK's Chennai Express. Hope she will reconcile soon and back with a bang.
