Popular Telugu film director Jagarlamudi Krish, who made big films with top heroes, is said to be among the accused and arrested in the sensational drug party in a five-star hotel in Hyderabad on Sunday.
According to the first information report filed by the Cyberabad police, Krish, who is known for his good taste in film making and made films like Gamyam, Vedam, Gautami Putra Satakarni and NTR biopic Kathanayakudu and is presently directing Pawan Kalyan-starrer Hari Hara Veeramallu, was also named in the case based on the confession given by drug peddler Syed Abbas Ali.
Krish is said to be a close of friend of Gajjala Vivekanand, son of prominent realtor and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Gajjala Yoganand and owner of Radisson Blue Hotel, where he was caught for the possession and consumption of cocaine during the raid on the hotel in Hyderabad on Sunday midnight.
The police reported the seizure of three plastic sachets containing cocaine, each approximately one gram in weight prior to consumption, along with white-coloured paper typically used for drug consumption purposes, and three mobile phones.
After initial investigation, a police team went to Gajjala Vivekanand's residence in Jubilee Hills. He was brought to the police station for questioning, during which he admitted to organising a party in his hotel room at Radisson Blu, where cocaine was consumed.
Vivekanand tested positive for drugs during medical examination.
According to the FIR, the police caught the accused at Room No.1200/1204 of Radisson Blue Hotel, Gachibowli. After the arrest, Vivekananda confession that his friends, including Krish, actresses Lishi and Swetha had party the previous night as usual with three packets of cocaine, which he bought from one Abbas. The party went on till 3 am on Monday.
The police registered a case under section 8 (C) r/w 21 (b), 25, 27 (a), 29 of NDPS Act and are investigating.
