After Jayaprada, Jayasudha and Sridevi, she is one of the few native Telugu heroines to have made a mark for herself in the industry.
Her first movie was a small film which released without any expectations and yet went on to become a super hit. This gave her a foothold in the industry and she went on to become a noted heroine in Telugu as well as doing some films in Malayalam also.
