But now, the latest rumour doing rounds in tinsel ville is that he cheated a Telangana director only because he hails from Telangana.
It is a known fact that Sampath Nandi was supposed to direct Pawan’s Gabbar Singh 2. But that did not take off and meanwhile, there have been stories that Bobby would be directing the film.
Though both Pawan Kalyan and Sampath Nandi belong to the same community, the only reason for his pushing Sampath Nandi aside is due to his nativity, insist industry insiders.
In fact, Gabbar Singh 2 was also launched officially. Producer Sarath Marar and music director Devi Sri Prasad were present at the function.
Devi Sri Prasad, who never attends a launch, made it a point to come for the launch of Gabbar Singh 2. Pictures of Pawan Kalyan and Sampath Nandi also posed for a lot of pictures.
News is that after the success of Rachcha, Pawan Kalyan had personally called Sampath to direct him in Gabbar Singh. So, Sampath set out to ready the story and came up with multiple lines.
Apparently, Pawan would call him for a story sitting and then make him wait for hours. But Sampath put up with his attitude only because he wanted to do a film with Pawan Kalyan.
But once he realized that he won’t be directing Gabbar Singh, Sampath Nandi then decided to do a film with Ravi Teja.
Now, the latest news in tinsel ville is that Gabbar Singh 2 will be directed by Bobby who has recently directed Ravi Teja’s Power. Though Power is not a super hit, we are told Bobby did a lot of lobbying to get the chance.
Well, looks like Pawan has finally proven that not only is he a successful actor, but also a successful politician.
