Shah Rukh Khan made a blazing return to the silver screen in 2023 with Siddharth Anand's Pathaan, which had already created a lot of hype before its release.
The film, featuring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in pivotal roles, as well as Dimple Kapadia, Ashutosh Rana, and Ekta Kaul in key roles, broke every record with its opening day collection.
In fact, it has emerged as the highest-earning movie of 2023 in Bollywood so far, thanks to its leading actors, grandeur, and super hit but controversial music album.
Reports now suggest that Shah Rukh Khan took a total profit sharing of 60%, rather than charging the makers a fixed upfront fee.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, "owing to the humongous collection at the domestic and international box office, Shah Rukh Khan opted for a 60% profit sharing which means he took home a whopping remuneration of around Rs 200 crore."
Fans had high expectations for Pathaan, and it certainly did not disappoint, buzzing ticket windows with an opening collection of 57 crore at the domestic box office.
