Nani was recently on cloud nine not just for delivering blockbuster with Bhale Bhale Magadivoy but also getting an offer from his favorite director Mani Ratnam.
It was his dream to act in Mani Ratnam's movie and the great director gave him lead role. All was fine until the last week.
When everyone was expecting the movie to bankroll, Nani walked out from this project, sources in Kodambakam said.
The buzz in Kodambakam is that Mani Ratnam had changed the story. It is not clear why Nani walked out from this project but it is certain that he is not doing the film.
Changing cast and crew and his plans is not new to Mani Ratnam. Indeed, Mani wanted Venkatesh to act in his cult classic Roja but Venky didn't adjust dates back then and the director went ahead with Aravind Swamy. Rest is history, as they say.
He even planned a movie last year with Mahesh Babu, Nagarjuna, Aishwarya Rai and Sruthi Haasan but it was dropped off due to budget constraints.
Nani must be disappointed for missing this great opportunity of acting in Mani Ratnam's film.
