The charge of plagiarism is still haunting M.S.Raju. He landed in trouble after making 'Aata'. After seeing the film, many felt it was the remake of another Telugu film 'Gudumba Shankar'. But 'Gudumba Shankar' too was the remake of the Tamil film, 'Namma Basva', scripted and directed by Veer Sankar.
While making 'Gudumba Shankar', several changes were made keeping in view the mannerisms of Pawan Kalyan, the hero. But 'Aata' appeared to be the direct remake of 'Namma Basva'.
M.S.Raju hadn't bothered to buy the rights. Veershankar is almost ready to file a suit against Raju. But Raju came down to compensate Veerashankar.
Negotiations are on. While Veershankar demanded Rs.25 Lakhs, Raju offered Rs. 10 Lakhs. The matter may be settled at Rs.15 Lakhs.
