It is more or less an open secret that sex not only sells but also rules the cinema industry. Since it might sound crude and image is at stake, everything happens behind closed doors. For some they commit out of compulsion and for some they commit for career opportunities. Here is one such trend being noticed.
According to a small sting operation, it is being realized that the situation in industry is such that mothers have entered the fields as pimps for their daughters. This is not happening with the junior artistes. This is about those starlets who do side roles. It is being observed that their mothers are coordinating with PROs, production managers.
For instance, they are proposing that generally a side artist gets Rs 15000 per week but if 1 lakh per week is arranged then their daughters are ‘available’. Anything which is 4-5 times more than the regular remuneration means these girls are available but it is only for director. Due to media fear and leakage fear, the mothers are approaching the PROs, Production Managers indirectly. Sad but true!
