Srimanthudu is going great guns at the box office. Second day collections were superb and the third day opened on a great note.
Going by the trend, Srimanthudu is surely going to collect 50 crores share by the end of its first week even if there is a slight dip in collections on weekdays.
With the talk being extremely encouraging and with little competition in its second week, Srimanthudu is likely to be all time top 2 film of Telugu Cinema.
This means Srimanthudu will beat all the existing box office records except for Baahubali, as per trade estimates. So Mahesh Babu missed out on an opportunity of scoring another industry hit as his film released four weeks after Baahubali.
Mahesh’s last industry hit Pokiri was released nine years ago. Srimanthudu could have given him another number one hit had it released a couple of weeks prior to Baahubali.
On the flipside, a part of Srimanthudu credit should also go to Baahubali as it is the film that has reignited the trend of ticket price hike that is playing huge role in Srimanthudu box office performance.
If the same trend continues for all the upcoming biggies we could see many more films in sixty and seventy crore clubs.
