Prince Mahesh Babu is very much hurt now. Not because his latest film Brahmotsavam has got a negative talk right from the show one; but because it has shattered his confidence levels.
In fact, the producer, director and even the hero had no high hopes on the film since its release, but they expected that it would at least have a divided response.
They thought the first half would entertain the audiences and the second half would take them into the real story that would digest the theme which has feel good factor and can send a nice message among them. They thought of capitalising on “different film with family values” concept while undertaking the publicity.
After all, one has to take the risk if they want to take a good message among the people. That is precisely why they took a lot of care in launching the promotional campaign, but they did not expect that the people would not be able to digest it so much.
It is learnt Mahesh was impressed with Srikanth Addala’s ideology and narration, rather than the story. So, he thought it he lent his support to the story, Srikanth would take it off to the success level.
That is why, he has roped in story writers like Paruchuri, Ganesh Patro and Sri Ramana (of Mithunam fame). But the actual difference came in making the film, since narration of the story is more important than the story itself. That is really hurting Mahesh.
In the case of “One-Nenokkadine,” Mahesh boldly took the risk. He got the appreciation of doing a good movie with experimental character.
But in case of Brahmotsavam, Mahesh got the talk that he made a big mistake, but nobody is saying he has done a good experiment.
If he makes a trial and gets a good name, that is enough even if the film flops. But here, he got neither.
