He gave a thumping block buster Pokiri a few years back and before that even Athadu worked very well for him. But after that he has been suffering from flops like Sainikudu and just average film like Athidhi etc. But still people used to augment the favoritism for this hero by watching Athadu and Pokiri on TV channels for years together. The recent film 'Khaleja' also went down commercially.
The craze was developed even by many corporate commercial companies and they have run behind Mahesh for signing various endorsement contracts.
Mahesh Babu signed on many contracts for Ads right from Thumbs Up, Navarathna Hair Oil, Univercell, Amrutanjan and Provogue. But now vowing to the flop image of Mahesh Babu, the companies are thinking again to continue with him or not. Right now some of the above brands are not using the picture of Mahesh Babu on their hoardings or printed material. Sources say that the companies are even preparing to lose the amount they paid for Mahesh. The concerned of the companies and brands is that if they promote their brands with a flop hero who got no big hit for about 5 years after ‘Pokiri’, then the brands also may go flop or get a failure image.
But some say that despite Mahesh has flops, he has got indelible image among the female crowds and youngsters in particular irrespective of his films.
